Global Citizen
New York, New York
One of the more encouraging signs that idealism is alive and well in the 21st century” vs “not dead in the 21st century is the work of Global Citizen. This international education and advocacy organization, founded in Melbourne, Australia in 2008, supports a worldwide movement to end extreme poverty, promote social justice, and combat climate change. Working in collaboration with a wide range of prominent individuals, businesses and institutions, the non-profit “action platform” has been involved in creating multimedia presentations, fellowships, fundraising campaigns, festivals and other activities that advance its goals, raising some $48.4 billion in pledges to Global Citizen-supported causes as of July 2020. In the years since its founding, it has opened offices in London, Berlin, Toronto, Lagos and Johannesburg, and relocated its headquarters in New York. To give Global Citizen a fitting headquarters in Manhattan’s trendy NoHo neighborhood, BR Design has conceived a lively and informal environment of private offices, open workstations and gathering spaces that would seem appropriate for a high-tech start-up. The contemporary interiors combine stark white walls, bold graphics, exposed ceilings, wood flooring and attractive, modern furnishings– plus a high-tech conference room that is well equipped for multi-media presentations— to perform like a steaming mug of black coffee on a Monday morning.
